The Innovators Tours are a new addition to the 2016 Wharf Rat Rally. They're designed to showcase some of the cool and interesting things that are going on in Nova Scotia.

These tours are not a sure "go" ... we need people to fill out the survey via the link found at the bottom of the page so we know that we have our minimum participant requirements. Once we have enough people for this tour, we will contact hotels and Oak Island Tours to coordinate those elements.

The South Shore of Nova Scotia has an abundance of innovative companies from energy farms to high-tech composites for airplanes to video game programming. There is so many possibilities, it was hard to pick just a few, so this tour spans two days.

Day One

Day one will see you head to Lequille for a tour of the Still Fired Disillery and then through Annapolis County south to Petite Riviere Vineyards for Lunch and a view of the Vineyard.Petite Riviere Vineyards2

You'll continue on into Bridgewater where you'll have a presentation by Suman Kaylan, Founder and CEO of Adroit Vista Predictions Inc.

Next you'll ride into the shipbuilding town of Lunenburg with its rich history and heritage. Here you'll have the opportunity to tour the high-tech facilities of Stelia-Aerospace, and dip your toes into a bit of culture, so to speak, at the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance.

Your evening will continue with the ride into the picturesque seaside village of Mahone Bay where you'll learn all about the wonderful qualities of the Haskap berry from the folks of LaHave Natural Farms. In Mahone Bay, your artistic self can surface, or you can grab a coffee and enjoy the view.

Oak Island Tours may be able to host a tour for us in the evening - stay tuned, and fingers crossed!
